Daily Duties at Zomax:
• Directed and completed all activities required to achieve ISO 9000 certification. • Prepared and executed the site Quality Manual and Quality Plan. • Responsible for creating and approving all site quality activities, policies, procedures and work instructions (SOP’s) for manufacturing, assembly and direct distribution. • Established all departmental KPI’s and metrics. • Developed and implemented AQL sampling plans. • Captured and classified all internal/external non-conformances for trend, root cause and Gap analysis using SPC techniques and metrology to identify needed areas of improvement. • Investigated and reported COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality). • Reduced scrap/waste/re-manufacture cost by approximately $ 190,000 over a two year period. • Performed all diagnostic testing (electronic signals, format, book spec) to determine root cause of reported defect. • Championed cross-functional process improvement teams and effective Corrective Actions to reduce non-conformances by 97% over a two year period. (CAPA) • Decreased all assigned departmental errors by 98% while decreasing operational costs through cross training and process refinement. • Developed Internal Auditors training and implemented site wide process and inventory location audits. • Reviewed contractual and technical documents to determine and implement strategic planning for quality control of new services and product launches. (Product Management) • Developed and Implemented proper QC testing for phone flashing service offering. • Responded to Customers with investigative findings and CA during periodic Quality Board Reviews, site visits and SCAR reports. • Initiated Quality Management meetings to address quality issues plant wide. • Created and reported monthly / YTD company quality scorecards to executive management. • Established and implemented multi-site quality controls to verify insourced and outsourced product including a “Virtual First Article” verification method. • Troubleshoot and recommend changes to Assembly DAR software project/batch tracking system. • Maintained Complaint database system for tracking internal and external product defects. • Maintained Preventative/Corrective action database for tracking and analyzing effectiveness of implemented actions. • Maintained vendor/supplier database. • Responsible for communicating and requesting VCAR’s. • Worked with all levels of the organization to establish collaborative and accountable cross functional relationships. • Responsible for hiring, training, directing staff and writing processes for; Inbound/Outbound Inspection, First Article Builds and Prototypes, In Line process checks, Final Acceptance, Internal and External Non Conformance Investigation and Reporting. • Developed and maintained departmental budgets, assuring adequate personnel and equipment was available on all shifts in order to guarantee quality standards were upheld. • Determined metrics, collected data and applied strong analytical skills to present accurate scorecards to executive management.
