William (B.J.) Lawson ran for U.S. Congress in North Carolina’s Fourth District in November election. Managed all public relations and advertising activity for the campaign in free time. * Media Relations – Drafted press releases on key issues and events, including rapid-response opportunities. Forged key relationships with local media, increasing visibility of the first-time candidate significantly. * Advertising – Developed content for and placement of multiple print and radio advertising ads. * Debate/Media Training – Helped to prepare candidate for media interviews and three debates by providing talking points, sample questions, opponent positioning and other guidance and analysis. * Writing – Coordinated extensive volunteer letter-to-the-editor and op-ed campaign that resulted in a number of placements; wrote and edited many of the letters, in addition to blog posts on the campaign Web site.
