Daily Duties at Chevron Corporation:

Maintained 335 production pumping units on a lease in the Kern River Oilfield. My duties included daily diagnosing, writing work orders (D7i), and analyzing data on LOWIS. I also wrote work permits and held tailgate safety meetings to ensure Chevron’s high standard for safety. I also was responsible for generating monthly financial reports which I presented to the department. I was given this added duty due to my education. I then became a Control Room Co-Gen Operator at the Eastridge Co-Gen in the Kern River Oilfield. I operated the Co-Gen using the Yokogawa Control board system. My duties included overall supervision of 2 LM 2500 Allison Gas turbines. These turbines provided power and steam to the field. All excess power was exported to PG&E for power to Bakersfield. I wrote D7i’s work permits and conducted safety meetings to ensure safety of those working in the plant. I conducted behavior based safety observations with business contractors. I also was responsible for rewriting the start-up/shutdown procedures for the turbines which will be used to train upcoming Co-Gen Operators.
