Daily Duties at Perkin Elmer:
Provide technical support to North American and International customers via telephone and email. Trained in instrumentation, consumable, reagent, and radioactive products to assist customers with problems that arise in these areas. Also have trained various staff members on equipment and kits supplied by the company. After one year, I moved to reagent sales in the CT/MA region of over 1000 various life science products servicing many pharmaceutical, biotech, and local medical institutions and colleges with PerkinElmer products. Have been involved with new business development for the CT/MA area to establish new accounts and increase sales for given territory. The territory (CT and MA) assigned had exceeded sales goals at plan each quarter (average 106%) after previous quarters had not achieved sales plan in previous year . The yearly sales quota was at 107% to plan for the year.
What they like about Perkin Elmer:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
