Daily Duties at Independent Statistical Service :

Performs lead responsibilities; included monitoring, Trouble-shooting and Help Desk responsibilities. Performing daily operations in a network system environment; operating multi-computer systems: IBM mainframe z/800-2066-0X2 MVS, CA1, JES with VTAM, TSO/ ISPF, DB2, TCP/ IP, ACF2, LANRES under OS/390 System environment. Working with systems queues and maintain production jobs flow using ESP automated job scheduler software to run batch workflow. Performs special Lead Computer Operations projects as assigned by the Computer Operations Supervisor. Provide supervision and monitored online applications and database systems to ensure that execution of all production jobs in a accordance with the daily schedule was accomplished on a timely and accurate basis. Responsible for monitoring daily backups and performs system backups as schedules. Perform IPLs and power on reset, as scheduled or needed. Participate in disaster recovery exercises and program activities, as required. Communicated and interfaced with users to resolved outstanding problems. Provide system support to the Network Control Center. Assists in software and hardware upgrade testing and Interfaced with Technical Support Telecommunication and System development. Cross trains Operators on all shifts on new or revised production protocols and schedules. Provide technical and on-call support for the Operation Department.
