Daily Duties at Nci Information Systems, Inc.:

During my time with NCI, I was a special projects analyst focused on the oversight of IT projects and ensuring that IT mapped to business needs while considering customer behavior. This included reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to formulate systems that aligned with organizational business strategy. This also involved regularly consulting with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives. Responsibilities also included: • Analyzing and documenting client needs including project management plans, risk assessments, cost benefit analyses, test plans, and feasibility studies. • Project management analysis and planning including tracking project initiation, milestones, budget schedules, and deliverables ensuring that all work is in compliance with company standards. • Managing product development efforts including requirements analysis of COTS packages. • Coordinating technical support and resolution with COTS vendors and technical support. • Administering system integration and change management with nascent systems. • Administering and re-engineering technical support functions, including, but not limited to user support hotlines, implementation, metrics, and lessons learned. • Developing and defining call management, service and operating level agreements, and escalation procedures for technical support roles. • Providing contract oversight and functioning as system development liaison between contract resources. • Analyzing and integrating applicable best business practices throughout the organization. • Analyzing project reporting systems including status reporting, task work detail, strategic planning, problem solving, and project planning for Year 2000 Contingency Planning, while adhering to standards of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This task required coordination and reporting on the budget and budget life cycle of Year 2000 Contingency Plans to senior level management of the United States Internal Revenue Service. • Defined and executed status-reporting requirements on all Year 2000 Contingency Action Plans, mitigation reporting and adherence, and trigger identification. This required the coordination of contingency planning staff to establish defined goals and limitations for the IRS in delivering quality and consistent products to their clients and customers in the event of a Year 2000 contingency situation.
