Daily Duties at Jost Chemical Company, Inc.:
Administer safety and health orientation to new employees and unescorted contractors Schedule & perform monthly safety meetings for 100+ plant employees Lead supervisor and plant safety committee meetings Investigate incidents and near-miss occurrences, prepare written reports, and delegate necessary corrective actions Develop new safety procedures as processes and regulations change (dust explosion hazard) Inspect safety equipment (fire extinguishers, 4-gas monitors, etc.) as per maintenance schedule Perform air sampling of personal air space for total dust and chromium exposure Provide emergency first aid for in-plant injuries Work directly with worker compensation carrier regarding claims Work directly with OSHA and DNR personnel during on-site inspections Registered the company with Department of Homeland Security through preparation of the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) and the Site Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) Prepare and distribute annual EPA reports (includes Metropolitan Sewer District quarterly wastewater reports, Missouri Department of Natural Resources quarterly and annual stormwater reports, annual Hazardous Waste Report, Annual TIER II Report, and Toxic Release Inventory)
