Daily Duties at The Mps Group:
Systems Utilization • Maintained PeopleSoft general ledger database, including, but not limited to, branch, department and chart of accounts setup, construction and maintenance of financial reports, and construction and maintenance of query tools. • Facilitated system development for upload of offline operational results into the PeopleSoft financial database. • Part of the acquisition integration team that was tasked with corporate restructuring through back office conversions. Operational Measurement • Prepared internal financial consolidations. • Developed a standard financial reporting package for offline operational reporting. • Assisted with the compilation of data required for the sale of the company’s largest revenue generating division. • Calculated earn out and note payments in accordance with acquisition purchase agreements. • Assisted with State and Federal Income Tax preparation. • Assisted independent accounting firms with work related to annual audits and SEC compliance. Supervision • Managed and developed professional employees. • Directed monthly and annual financial close processes. • Reviewed balance sheet reconciliation’s submitted by divisional controllers. • Assisted with financial statement compilation and tax compliance for and initial public offering. • Supervised the treasury management function. Supervised up to sixty employees in the areas of payroll, billing, accounts receivable, and credit and collections. Developed short and long term plans for these departments, which included annual budgeting, establishment of personnel needs, and creation of departmental hierarchies. Worked closely with the Technology Services Department, focusing in such areas as processing efficiency, system generated reports, and data warehouse requirements. Worked directly with branch personnel to enhance the quality of customer service related to back office functions.
