Daily Duties at Agilent Technologies, Inc.:

U.S. sales and use tax contact for the implementation of two Oracle platforms. Completed initial Taxware setup including Nexpro, Sales Tax Exemption Program and Product Code Conversion. Validated integration and system tests; wrote test scripts, ran tests and validated results. Member of SWAT team; on-call team for tax issues, resolved over 100 issues. Worked on numerous projects with eternal and internal business tpartners; compliance project with E&Y, internal and external audit support, compliance and operational guidelines manual. Reported sales and use tax dollars and reconciled G/L to ensure that correct and timely payments could be made. Managed tax codes and groups used for Oracle A/P, Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Order Management (O/M) modules to ensure invoices could be paid on time. Refined and documented processes, job aids, alternate solutions and training materials. Instructor for tax team and other internal and external partners needing tax training. Provided guidance to A/P, A/R, O/M and Collections teams with tax questions. Identified and assisted with implementing changes needed for standard Oracle reports, resulting in a savings of over 80 man-hours per month. Processed sales tax refunds due to customers who overpaid tax on invoices. Researched requests to ensure a refund was due. Maintained a log to track refund requests. Updated customer’s taxability status so that they were not taxed incorrectly in future. Managed 70+ business licenses. Determined when a new license needed to be obtained. Maintained a tax calendar to track business licenses and renewed licenses, as needed.
