Daily Duties at Vertis Communications:
Manage pressroom and facility maintenance staff at a round-the-clock 100,000sqf offset web printer of newspaper advertising materials, and 80,000sqf paper storage warehouse. Responsible for daily operations, including web press maintenance and preventative maintenance scheduling; writing and editing preventative maintenance tasks and procedures using PMC 2000 and Microsoft Office software; maintenance personnel work schedules; employee performance mentoring and evaluations; parts acquisitions and alternate source manufacturers; tracking and reducing department budget; create and revise Auto CAD drawings relating to press lay-out, press parts, building, and office renovation and expansion; developing work flow analysis study to restructure suitable work space that will maximize productivity and minimize injuries; re-structuring division safety program with emphasis on machine guarding and using the "5S" program; scheduling and designing upgrades and retrofits of existing equipment with our engineering division; work closely with all vendors during press rebuilds, relocations, and concrete floor "pad" reconstruction, research, compare, and order auxiliary equipment needed to keep pressroom fully functioning, solving equipment problems 24-7 which enabled our production department to meet crucial deadlines; facility maintenance.
