As an International Trade Representative for the State of Minnesota, I consulted with Minnesota businesses interested in entering or expanding in global markets. In this capacity I interacted with companies in a variety of industries including medical devices, computer hardware/software, food products & consumer goods. This involved developing marketing strategies, identifying business partners & advising clients on financing, shipping, legal and regulatory requirements in foreign markets. I also orchestrated group participation in numerous overseas trade shows/exhibitions, business development missions, conferences & special events throughout Europe, Asia & the Middle East and was a frequent speaker at conferences & seminars in national & international forums.
