Daily Duties at Pei, Inc.:

My main responsibility was to coordinate FTL & LTL moves for various PEI, Inc. tradeshow customers. PEI, Inc. specializes in freight moving in/out of tradeshows, and had many demanding customers. On time performance, proper equipment (load bars, blankets, lift gates, etc…), and 24/7 communication with the customer was of utmost importance. I handled every aspect of the requested “show” move – move in, and move out. To include the following: Setting the customers price per load(s) Scheduling the time sensitive load out from the customers dock Confirming/assigning the proper load equipment as requested by the customer Choosing the driver and setting his rate of pay for the load Dispatching the driver with detailed instructions Daily driver check calls to communicate any delays; and to verify on time arrival/check in at the show facility, marshalling yard, hotel, exhibit hall, fairground, etc… Notifying the customer to advise offloading date/time, report any notated shortages, damages, etc…, advise of any additional charges due to waiting time, layover, driver assist, etc…; and any other valuable information that might benefit the customer I also assisted our safety department with issues such as new driver orientation, assigning trailers/equipment, daily updating reports to show trailer positions/availability, and monitored/reported trailer tracking via satellite if necessary.
