• Isolated HIV Pre-integration Complexes and developed model to study mechanism of nuclear import and integration • Characterized mechanism of specific steps of HIV integration using radiolabeled DNA fragment substrates corresponding to integration intermediates and purified virally encoded proteins • Developed a purification method for HIV integrase and integrase fragments • Created HIV integrase variant virus through site directed mutagenesis, transfection and amplification of virus • Supervised and trained graduate and undergraduate students in BSL-2 and BSL-3 cell culture and molecular biology studies
