· Self managed liaison between health insurance companies and a private practice doctor’s office to manage billing and collections on unpaid insurance claims using the phone and internet · Familiar with medical and dental coding terminology including CPT-4, ICD-9-CM, HCPCS and CDT · Responsible for collection from all insurance companies including HMO and PPO providers · Accountable for data entry and validation for reporting using Excel · Extensive use of insurance company websites and phone trees to receive billing and collections data. · Required to follow-up on existing claims and manage new claims to reduce the time of payment
