Daily Duties at Nextel Communications:
• Effectively Project Managed the construction of over 500 new cellular sites and the expansion of over 1,000 existing cellular sites in a territory ranging from Northern California to the Pacific Northwest • Created materials order requests for all materials needed to construct a macro/micro cellular site determined through collaboration between a team of RF Engineers, Construction Managers, and Field Technicians to optimize required footprint needed to sustain best ever performance of the network • Used Microsoft Visio to design the interior layout of radio equipment in projected space available for the cellular site (shelter, office space, etc), the exterior layout of cable runs from the radio equipment to the associated antennas, transmit and receive cabling diagrams, and antenna configurations • Communicated with installation vendors to negotiate pricing quotes for installations, acquire requisitions, purchase orders, and final payment invoices. • Managed the installation schedule to ensure that all installations were started and completed in a timely manner consistent with the project management timelines outlined by system development management • Developed and implemented new standard configuration drawings to help standardize the region • Supervised, trained and mentored new employees and contractors • Worked with regional team to create standard operating procedures for the Configuration Department
