Daily Duties at Motorola:

Lead Software Engineer / Quality Assurance Tester Perform all aspects of software testing and quality assurance for software applications projects for global customers, including requirements identification, developing project timeline, test plan/case writing, execution, validation, release, and post-launch support. Manage a small team, including assigning/prioritizing tasks, reviewing individual performance and tracking against established goals. Responsible for overall quality improvement for the team. Work closely with software developers to resolve critical issues identified during testing. Responsible for ensuring the pre-release quality for the Operational Maintenance Center (OMC) and serve as team lead to the OMC Load & Stress Team; develop new Load & Stress process, environment, and application tools for project applications released globally to Motorola customers. Work with customers to customize applications as well as with software developers to develop, troubleshoot, and debug applications prior to customer application launch. Maintain a consistent track record of leading two teams with an 80%+ defect containment rate for six years running. Sprint/NEXTEL Project: Simulated Sprint/NEXTEL market OMCs into existing testing environment and developed methods to replicate the customers environment as well as performance limitations over multiple releases to ensure stability. Managed and Organized Load & Stress team members in software test planning, setup, execution, and documentation of performance inadequacies and defects; communicated findings with managers at various levels. Presented reports to project managers as well as Motorola/client managers regarding the Performance teams findings on process utilization, sub-process utilization, and application I/O. Reports were presented utilizing MS Excel slides, MS Word slides, and MS PowerPoint slides. Utilized tools to replicate authentic database size, collect samples of product progress, and collect data for analysis to local servers, to verify product I/O is optimal and correct, and to analyze and format graphically to illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of product performance. Tools were written in SHELL, SQL, and PERL.
