Vernon, OH Human Resources Specialist Completed daily operational duties in the Human Resources department including: coordination of Workers’ Compensation and FMLA programs, attendance tracking, reviewing and screening applications, processing hourly payroll, preparing correspondence for employees and applicants, new employee orientations, posting open positions, and assisting departments with hiring processes. • Tracked and screened approximately 300+ applications per year • Researched posting position online for specialized journals that resulted in saving the university approximately $13,000 over 5 months • Volunteered to take on Payroll for 1500+ employees and trained new Payroll Specialist • Created and implemented a new employee orientation • Assisted Records and Benefits Specialist with health insurance and other benefit processes • Decreased lag time with Workers’ Compensation by 293 days during 1st year • Researched and purchased new FMLA software to ensure proper tracking • Implemented a secure fax to ensure HIPPA regulations were being followed
