Daily Duties at R.R. Bowker:
• Managed a team of internal and outsourced developers during development of DOI Web application (Digital Object Identifier); constructed a comprehensive project plan, documented system planning, design and usability. Created a web-based tool consisting of XML data feeds with business login validation. • Lead and supervised a team of 5 senior programmers in providing production support functions for all Publishing Group applications; overseeing project prioritization, time estimates and resource allocation. Initiated and directed IT Library Division collaboration with outsourcing team of 3 software engineers working on development and support of data loading process; creating concise and comprehensive sales and reporting system for Library Division business unit. • Scoped and outlined project detail during web development for an intergraded Web Focus based web application tracking sales statistics for retail and college book stores in Canadian and US markets. Developed modularized plug-in components for various customer channels, providing efficient scalability and user-defined security settings. • Designed, developed and maintained an online representative element for ISBN Agency. Worked closely with the business unit to build comprehensive documentation and implement additional features.
