Daily Duties at Applied Materials:

• Lead domestic and international operation audits and SOX engagements to validate internal business control objectives. Travel for SOX and audit engagements that are performed in United States, Europe and Asia. • Plan and develop the scope of IT and operational audits based on the Applied Materials risk matrix. • Prior to conducting operational audits, develop audit programs for various business processes/areas. Business processes and areas include Payroll, Demand Planning, Procurement, Equity, Treasury, Human Resources, Project management, Fixed Assets and Expense Reports to be executed during the audit. • Prior to IT audits, develop audit programs for various processes/areas such as logical security, network security, user access, change management, IT general controls and integration controls. • For SOX and audit engagements (IT and Operational) identify exceptions, material weakness and escalade issues to senior management. • Work with senior management on identified internal control weaknesses during SOX or regular audits and ensure adequate execution of remediation plans. • Prepare presentations for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors on quarterly audits conducted. • Review accounting, financial and operational controls that are in place for the company’s operating units to identify areas of financial risk. • Evaluate currently followed IT processes and make recommendations based on best industry practices. • Baseline current processes for newly acquired companies and provide comparative analysis against corporate processes and policies.
