Supervise operations of 17 member QA staff in Carlsbad, CA and Milwaukee, WI • Allocation of QA resources to projects including hiring projections and skillset analysis, performance evaluation and professional training • Coordinate daily activities of QA engineers with Product and Project Managers and Senior Staff. Implemented cross-geographic teaming between CA and WI. • Through improvements in process, parallel development and use of metrics in conjunction with matrix team structure, reduced development cycle from 20 months to 8 from initial concept to delivery • Implemented CMM level 3 process documentation and adherence to standards • Increased interdepartmental communication and cooperation through pairing of QA engineers with Developers, Tech Writers, Solution Consultants and Marketing Specialists, improving “real-world” test scenario development and bug turnaround. • Designed and implemented enterprise-wide call and defect tracking system using Clarify Clear Support and Clarify Clear Quality • Specify equipment, software and procedures for development of a testing lab whose functions include automation, multiple operating systems testing, stress and load testing, web testing, and high-speed (4,000 page/min) printing. • Instituted the use of portable automated unit tests created by Developers, to be delivered with code modules to QA engineers to speed cycle time
