Daily Duties at U.S. Department Of Housing And Urban Development:
• Assisted in the day to day governance of a $250 million annual budget, and provide oversight for over $38 billion in annual grants. • Served as a liaison between the Assistant Secretary and the HUD program offices, as well as the White House, other Cabinet Agencies, Members of Congress, state and local governments and public interest groups. • Maintained a Secret Security Clearance while managing HUD’s successful implementation of HSPD-12, as well as HUD’s Continuity of Government (COG) and Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and execution. • Regularly met with Members of Congress and their staffs to develop HUD’s annual operating budget and inform the Hill of HUD’s grant distribution. • Functioned as HUD’s representative to OMB on several initiatives, including HUD’s budget, hiring, and the President’s Management Agenda. • Focused on eGovernment initiatives, moving the agency from paper-based systems to electronic systems including; online grant applications, online time and attendance system, correspondence tracking system, electronic records storage, web-based recruiting and hiring, and an online training system. • Oversaw the Assistant Secretary’s priorities within the Office of Administration, serving as project manager for cost-savings initiatives and improved customer service. • Developed and manage HUD’s new recruitment effort, focusing on our succession plan and the workforce of the future. • Coordinated the procurement activities of the Office of Administration with HUD’s Chief Procurement Officer.
