Daily Duties at Jds Uniphase:

Optical Reliability Technician Began in R&D working on prototype modulator development. Duties included building and testing various types of modulators. Testing process methods, and writing procedures. Transferred products from development to manufacturing. Promoted to the Reliability department where I was the sole technician responsible for the optical test and measurement of this companies products. Duties included setting up tests per Bellcore/Telcordia specifications, installing and preparing devices for test, making all measurements, tracking and reporting results. Tests included Long term aging, accelerated aging, long term storage, temp cycling, humidity drop and vibration testing and optical measurements of Loss, Vpi, Extinction Ratio, Q, Polarization and PDL.
