Daily Duties at Royal Australian Navy:

CHIEF PERFORMANCE OFFICER Developed and led establishment of the Performance Management Framework for the entire Australian Navy (20,000 personnel, 50 ships and submarines, $2.6 billion budget). - Principal advisor to RAN $10 million Activity Based Management (ABM) program. Program was one of the only working examples of an enterprise-wide automated costing system in the world (tracked accumulated costs on over 10,000 activities performed at all organizational levels). Created an expanded vision, built framework to articulate/predict impact of resource changes on fundamental military capabilities. Work encompassed all of Australian Defense and later the U.S. Navy. - Integrated enterprise ABM information across two ERP suites (SAP and Peoplesoft). - Established framework to integrate simulation-based modeling techniques with Activity Based Management tools. - Developed demonstration prototype with Australian Defense Science and Technology Office. - Developed methodology for assessing capabilities against specific contingency response options. - Led efforts to forge joint U.S.-Australian development agreements. Worked closely with the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation to exploit joint opportunities. - Australian Chief of Navy and U.S. Chief of Naval Operations both personally endorsed the significance and importance of this advanced body of work.
