Daily Duties at Mars Snackfood Us:
Spearheaded six 3rd party contract manufacturers, inventory levels, distribution, and vendor relations. Managed $15M of seasonal raw material, packaging, and finished product annually. Accountable for KPI’s: plant fill rates, adherence-to-schedule, and inventory turnover. Planned production operations in Manugistics by building capacity constraints models against customer demand on various product lines while minimizing operating costs such as changeovers, layoffs and rehiring costs, raw material obsolescence, etc. Set-up BoMs in ERP system based upon recipe formulas. Utilized MRP’s to identify material requirements in effort to minimize excess packaging and future obsolescence. Collaborated with contract manufacturers to identify potential operational and supply chain improvements. Responsible for the initial distribution of finished product to the regional distribution centers network. Actively participated on cross-functional teams with accounting, finance, procurement, marketing, demand planning, etc. Processed account payables invoices for packaging, raw material, and service vendors. Advanced user and troubleshooter for Manugistics, SAP, FGS, and ManMan Operational Improvements •Spearheaded a $5M reduction of inventory and carrying costs through the implementation of EDI •Eliminated $100K of excess costs associated with Dove ice cream pints line by tracking and documenting quality issues and excess waste of raw materials •Reduced inventory on-hand from 600 pallet positions to 180 pallet positions at a co-manufacturing site •Optimized Dove Sugar free and Ice Cream Pint product lines by re-formatting family calendars and capacity constraints •Utilized a multiple level distribution technique that reduced product obsolescence and stock-outs •Published fifteen SOPs for operations
