Jan'04 – Dec’04 Intel, Corp. Chandler, AZ (Consumer Video/Imaging Products divisions) Member of Technical Staff 1> Worked on Tetrahedral-color-conversion hardware-accelerator definition and validation. Algorithms for TCC and related RGB <=> YCbCr, RGB <=> CMYK, RGB <=> CIE-Lab conversions were investigated. 2> Studied algorithms in print-path and scan-path of photo-copiers, scanners, printers. Implemented some in f/w on parallel processor. 3> Analyzed Microsoft’s Windows Media V9 (VC1) compressed-video-decoder standard and estimated MIPS, memory, I/O, firmware and hardware processing requirements. Focused on the bit-stream processing and Variable-length-code decoders. Defined requirements of hardware-accelerator for VLC, RLD functions. Worked closely with h/w designer. 4> Wrote ANSI c-code using gcc and make files on linux platform in a difficult environment. Code handled BSP and VLC functionality for progressive I-, P-, B-, frame types. Defined interface between various sub-systems (VLD, Motion-compensation, DCT/iDCT, De-blocking, Inloop-Filtering). Wrote firmware on parallel processor for one sub-system. Designed new VLC decoder algorithm.
