Daily Duties at Ccc Information Services:
In a fast-paced environment, designed and administered twelve (12) non-production databases consisting of development, quality assurance, and client test environments; and, designed and administered three (3) 24 by 7 production databases in a open system, web-based environment ranging in size from 340 Megabytes to 580 Gigabytes involving software installation and upgrades; database disk configuration; database performance monitoring and tuning; SQL performance monitoring and tuning; backup and recovery; problem resolution; schema installation and upgrades; capacity planning; and, database security. Devised database objects naming standards and an object version control methodology. Designed and administered two (2) Windows 2003 based production databases. Wrote and implemented database maintenance and monitoring utility programs and scripts. Devised backup and recovery strategies using Oracle’s Recovery Manager (RMAN) and EMC’s Business Continuance Volumes (BCV). Provided guidance and expertise in sizing and defining the physical attributes of database object structures to database architects. Mentored junior and novice Oracle Database Administrators.
