Daily Duties at Sbc Long Distance:
Wrote and implemented an automated process to perform ongoing monthly hotel currency updates and monthly updates to hotel amenities data. Administered Oracle v. 8.1 and Oracle v 9.1 databases ranging in size from 50 megabytes to 340 gigabytes involving software installation and upgrades; database disk configuration; database performance monitoring and tuning; backup and recovery; partition maintenance; problem resolution; schema installation and upgrades; capacity planning; and, database security. Developed Pl/SQL code and KORN Shell scripts to extract data on past due accounts from the billing database and electronically transfer that data to a collection agency. Identified and tuned poorly performing SQL statements. Maintained and upgraded Apache Tomcat web servers.
