Daily Duties at Chicago Board Of Options Exchange:
Migrated database objects from all current data warehouse schemas, from all current compliance surveillance schemas and from all current back-office support schemas into new development, performance and assurance databases; and, imported data required for initial application processing in support of a project to establish an options only trading environment. In support of data warehouse and compliance surveillance application projects; analyzed data requirements; modified logical and physical data models within the ERwin Data Modeler; generated DDL scripts from the ERwin Data Modeler; and, created implementation scripts for the deployment of the generated DDL. Participated in exercises with developers to identify and tune inefficient SQL statements, and to identify proper indexing strategies. Modified utilities used in truncating and analyzing table, index partitions and subpartitions to eliminate processing errors; to provide for the specific naming of “MAXVALUE” and “DEFAULT” partitions within the utilities’ parameters; and, to enhance the PL/SQL packages’ exception error logic to generate precise, meaningful messages. Participated in after-hours production support identifying the proper technical discipline required to resolve abnormalities; coordinating actions between the various disciplines; and, troubleshooting and resolving application anomalies as they pertained to Data Architect Staff maintained utilities, functions, PL/SQL procedures and packages, snapshots, schema object structures, and all inadequately performing SQL.
