Daily Duties at Us Postal Service:
A broad range of managerial and administrative responsibilities include: • Supervise carrier activities, evaluate daily workload and assign carrier routes for a total of up to 290 employees. • Supervise distribution and dispatch of mail and other mail handling activities including change of address mail. • Ensure proper procedures are followed related to receipt, recording and delivery of accountable mail. • Supervise window services to the public including sale of postage materials and provide special services and information. • Establish work schedules and allocate work hours to meet service requirements. • Analyze delivery operations, mail flows and retail operations utilizing data analysis and computer models; make appropriate recommendations. • Conduct or oversee mail counts and inspections, analyze various operating factors and make recommendations for efficiency improvements. • Ensure compliance with vehicle maintenance and inspection schedules and monitor service contracts. • Supervise craft employees, provide on-the-job training, assess work performance, prepare written evaluations and make recommendations for improvement. • Maintain ongoing contact with the public including large volume mailers and community and business representatives. • Perform service and safety talks on a weekly basis. • Maintain all confidential employee and operational records.
