Daily Duties at Wpahs Allegheny General Hospital :
Manage all aspects of Billing Office for 6 dialysis units and 2 physician practices consisting of 11 Physicians, 5 Fellows and 2 Billing Associates. The billing includes registration, insurance verification using all insurance company search engines, charge entry for each dialysis treatment, drug charges, office charges as well as ICD 9 coding and charge entry of inpatient charges. Also responsible for compliance with Medicare/Medicaid, HIPPA and JCAHO regulations. Responsible for timely filing for all charges, obtaining necessary referrals/authorizations, and all routine billing/follow up problems. Also responsible for the reporting to the ESRD Network 4 on a monthly and quarterly basis. Enabled the use of the CMS/ESRD Vision Network for reporting. This took the process from a paper to electronic format. Enabled upgrade to OAS Gold in 12/05 for 6 employees that included training of staff on the new system that included a scheduling portion not previously utilized. I also know everyone’s job so that I could fill in if there is a need or emergency.
