Daily Duties at Sergent, Hauskins & Beckwith (Agra):
Supervised geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations for buildings, dams, storage tanks, highways, transmission lines, pipelines, landfills, sewage treatment plants, power plants, low-level radioactive disposal sites, leach pads and mining facilities in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, Texas, Colorado and Wyoming. Field functions included sampling and logging of soils and rock, trench logging, geologic mapping, fault investigations, landslides and rock falls, installation and development of monitor wells, pump testing and permeability testing. In addition work was performed on underground storage tank removals and evaluations of aggregate and borrow sources. Office functions included report writing, slope stability analysis, applying for well permits and variances, writing environmental site assessments, mine permits, preparing request for proposals, QA/QC procedures, budgets and schedules.
