Daily Duties at Exeter Hospital, Inc.:
I work on a medical surgical unit of a hospital. My unit has 24 beds. I am responsible for assisting patients with their activities of daily living, such as; showering, bathing, brushing their teeth, dressing, eating, walking around, answering the telephone, checking the blood sugars of diabetics and washing/brusing their hair. I am also responsible for doing their vital signs andrecognizing whether or not an emergency needs to be reported to the nurse. I have a hand in saving lives. Many times I am the first person who will notice a danger and it is my job to tell the people who can take action in saving the life of the patient. One time I reported a very high temperature and the patient ended up going to emergency surgery because there was an infection that was causing her temperature to reach 108 degrees.
