Daily Duties at Polk County Health Department State Of Florida:
•Acted as security information custodian for the HIV/AIDS Surveillance Program. •Audited medical records for reporting purpose; and managed the STD Unit staff. •Served as liaison with hospitals and medical specialists who diagnosed & provided treatment. •Advised and assist county public health units in planning, coordinating, and evaluating activities. •Initiated routine procedures in conjunction w/County Public Health Units personnel. •Determined whether reported cases meet case definition for HIV/AIDS Surveillance. •Provided technical assistance, consultation, and training to state, city, or local health officials. •Directed data collected activities for assigned geographical area of the state and insures reporting. •Compiled a quarterly HIV/AIDS morbidity and mortality data for Area 14. •Assisted in developing various methods to expand the system for HIV/AIDS surveillance. •Developed various special studies of HIV/AIDS in selected populations. •Attended workshops, conferences, and committee meetings relating to HIV/AIDS. •Conducted epidemiological investigations of all confirmed HIV/AIDS cases in relation to risks.
