Daily Duties at Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions:
Electrical and Controls Engineering Manager - Manage a team of 9 Controls Engineers having responsibility for domestic and international manufacturing plants, as well as the design, development and manufacture of our Dealer retreading equipment. Assist on projects when work load is high. Recent Projects include: • Currently part of a 2-man design team laying out a new tread manufacturing facility in Asia. • Project co-manager for a project to redesign some older Bandag dealer equipment and determine feasibility of having it manufactured in China. • Project manager and primary electrical engineer for a proto-type automatic finishing line wind-up project consisting of a team of 3 electrical engineers and 3 mechanical engineers. Machine used AC VFDs and motors to simulate a servo system at a fraction of the cost. Ethernet I/P communications for the VFDs and the remote I/O were used exclusively.
