Why is it that in small towns, if you list previous management experience, employers seem to overlook the experience and hire someone they know or someone with less experience who eventually quit or get fired? Wouldn't it make more sense to hire someone reliable, with the experience, that knows the ins and outs of a company? I loved to work the hotels but I find since moving to a small town, employers would rather hire inexperienced people, people they know than trust someone witht the knowledge and background I have, and the people they hire do not work out for them. It really is nerve wrecking. My husband tells me now I shouldn't list my management experience because it is is intimidating for the management looking at my resume' for fear that I might take their job. I am reliable, honest, somewhat of a workaholic and not afraid to admit that when I do not know something, I am willing to learn. I feel that I have to omit my management experience just to get an interview or someone to talk to me. It just doesn't seem fair since I am qualified, and proud of what I have accomplished.![Back](/images/buttons/back.png?1597775387)
