Daily Duties at Tlt Babcock, Inc.:

Designed centrifugal fans for power generation plants. Provided related technical support to vendors, customers, and to in-house Quality Control, Procurement, and fan assembly and testing facility. Oversaw preparation of drawings for rotor fabrication vendor and stationary steel (fan housing, inlet boxes, inlet vane controls (IVC‘s), bearing pedestals). Prepared procurement specifications to be sent to vendors for fan motor couplings, sleeve bearings, oil (forced) lubrication units, air inlet silencers, bearing vibration and temperature sensors, dampers, and actuators (hydraulic and pneumatic). Prepared contractually required submittals to customers containing specifications, procedures, data, and manuals for fans and components. Oversaw vendor-performed finite element analyses on fan rotor and worked closely with FEA vendor to make design modifications as needed to pass stress, fatigue, or modal vibration analyses. Created and maintained fan bill of material (BOM). Utilized design principles of rotating machinery.
