What they like about The Boeing Company:
You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry. Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity. So as you assess your employment opportunities, be sure to seek out the positive aspects of the firm's reputation in addition to noting negative publicity the company may have received.

Climbers' Joblogs at The Boeing Company:
My current Job
Coming from a consulting background, I find myself gravitating towards the people who get work done right the first time and in a timely manner, regardless of how long they have been there or their title or department. This conflicts to some degree with Big Boeing’s “treat everybody the same” policy, and made some other managers upset when they were not included much on my projects because I could get the job done better and faster with someone else, or by doing it myself – especially with demanding schedules. These are the same Manager’s who did not like us getting all the awards listed above. I was forced to put them on some of my teams based on their title – in consulting you just pick who gets the job done and do not have to worry as much about the politics. But you are still measured the same way – was the project successful? – If so I was doing something right.
