Daily Duties at Smithsonian Institution Natural History Museum Of History:

Volunteered at the Herbarium and coordinated on Captain James T. Wilkes expeditions as he collected plants along his journey. Other duties include locating plant specimans that had previously been treated with a drying agent that later was discovered to be carcinogenic. These plant specimans when found were placed in special folders that trapped the carcinogenic gases.
