Daily Duties at University Of North Carolina At Chapel Hill Program On Aging:

• Design and implementation of core sections of the Program on Aging website. • Design/development and implementation of web sites for student groups whose primary focus is geriatrics. Websites include Student AGS (American Geriatrics Society) and Mobile SHAC (Student Health Action Coalition. • Reynolds Grant initiatives such as: Initiating interest on the part of medical students to choose geriatrics as their primary area of specialization. • Facilitating and fostering relationships between students and volunteer coordinators at nursing, extended care, assisted living facilities, and other volunteer efforts that enhance the quality of life for older adults. • Liaison between the Program on Aging, and outside nursing, extended care, and assisted living facilities, as well as volunteer programs within the community who primarily work with older adults. • Filling in for doctor assistants (answering patient calls, calling in prescription refills, pulling and filing charts, and assisting the geriatric fellows).
