What they like about Meijer:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.

Climbers' Joblogs at Meijer:

Working at a low income

I am currently working at Meijer in North Muskegon, MI. I work in the produce department and have been doing so for the past 2 years. This, of course, is the longest I have ever been at a job. The only real problem with it, is that I only make $7.7 an hour and average 20 hrs a week. There is no possible way to survive on ones own in such a way. I am looking to move, however, until I have enough money saved up to move out of my current residence, that cannot happen.

So, I have search as many websites and newspaper ads as I could come up with and, due to a poor econ. there are very few jobs available in Michigan for a person with little education. I cannot even afford health care or life insurence. That is why I am taking a step forward...or trying to.
