Responsibilities included updating prices received from Steelcase using QuarkXpress and QuarkXpress extensions, managing page cross-reference updating for specification guides using QuarkXpress and Filemaker, training digital composition specialists on process to flow the updated page cross-reference database into QuarkXpress files, preparing PDF files for CD-ROM burning by creating postscripts of QuarkXpress files, then using Adobe Acrobat distiller to create PDFs. PDF hypertext linking and bookmarks were generated using the Adobe Acrobat plug-in QuickLinx, explaining and demonstrating the automated page cross referencing process for visiting clients. AMS publication 2000 Wine Watch Guide / 2000 Wine Watch Guide companion Web site Responsible for: Managing a team in the production of the 2000 Wine Watch Guide, a database publishing project that combined the results of 11 national wine competitions into one book. Responsibilities included sorting data in FileMaker database and importing the files into QuarkXpress as fully formatted pages, making necessary formatting adjustments in QuarkXpress to prepare pages for printing, updating 2000 Wine Watch Guide Web site, editing and proofreading pages and arranging meeting with editors to resolve page queries, handling AMS permission requests to use wine competitions’ results, and Fulfilling copyright requirements. Brite House Franchise Startup Manuals Responsible for: Producing the 5 volume startup manuals for Brite House in FrameMaker; creating templates and constructing pages in FrameMaker, working closely with client to make editorial decisions about the volumes, coordinating with the offsite editor to ensure that editorial requirements were met., working closely with the printer and client to deliver printed volumes. McDonald’s Prototype Web Site, McDonald’s, Inc. Responsible for: Building web pages in HTML for prototype web site. Pathways Application Guide, Steelcase, Inc. Responsible for: Building templates and constructing the pages for the Pathways Application Guide, meeting with team to discuss and resolve project issues. Understanding, TEDX Conference, Inc. Responsible for: Building templates for project, collecting information from Web sites for the book, “Understanding”.
