Executive Technology Vice President/CIO

I am writing to put myself forward for the high-visibility position of Chief Information Officer, (CIO), for your company. I bring a level of professionalism, conscientiousness & willingness to learn that fulfills several important roles for a company that require the sort of seriousness that I have brought to the job for my entire career.

First and foremost, the primary duty of a Chief Information Officer is to create the strategic vision and technical road map for the company in which I have consistently done for my entire job history. However, the duties of the CIO go beyond creating the vision and outlining the road map. I possess the technical skills to be a first-rate CIO and believe the most important characteristics of any great leader are non-technical. I have learned that success is predicated on creating an environment supporting employee empowerment and innovation. The attitude a Chief Information Officer brings to work, whether good or bad, can easily be spread throughout the entire organization. That is why I have attempted to use my position of visibility to be a source of discipline, process, and friendliness to increase company profits and raise morale for the entire office.

My twenty eight years of solid work experience make me uniquely suited to performing the CIO duties for your organization. During my tenure, I have worked in two very different office environments which have given me broad & diverse experiences to bring to your company.

In my first position, I worked at a large Fortune 50 firm and became extremely adept at the efficient multi-tasking that a busy office requires of a Senior Director. In my more recent position as CIO, I worked at a smaller firm and became more experienced in the individualized services I could provide to the office from a client perspective. It was in this position that I began educating myself in the details of the company and the services and duties that each member of the organization provided. This allowed me to function more effectively as a source of information for my internal workforce and customers, as well as made me more able to assist the employees in the completion of their goals and major responsibilities.

I enjoy the fast pace and opportunity to learn about a business that being a CIO offers. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for this opportunity with you at your earliest convenience. Please call me at 847-816-1187 so that we can set up an appointment to meet in person.
____________________________________________________________________

During my 27 year career I became known as the “go to” executive when the organization needed to develop high performing employees and create efficient operations. While I possess the technical skills to be a first-rate Director, I believe that the most important characteristics of any great leader are non-technical. I have learned that success is predicated on creating a culture that supports employee empowerment and innovation. And, of course, no leader can be successful unless he treats every co-worker, employee, customer, and peer with respect and dignity.

My leadership skills have helped me to achieve personal and professional success. In my personal life I am the proud father of four successful children and I am a volunteer coach for the National Association of Coaches. I coach Pop Warner football and basketball in the community of Libertyville, Illinois, even though my children have outgrown the league. I do this because I am passionate about helping kids achieve their potential. Some of the children whom I have coached over the years have had to deal with traumatic family and personal situations. I am glad that I have been able to be there to help these children to build self esteem through sports and I have, when necessary, helped them to obtain professional counseling. I believe that my technical skills and my passion for helping others to achieve their potential make me a great fit for your organization and for the Director role.

I possess solid integrity, a positive and proactive management style, team building expertise, a passion for customer service, a relentless pursuit of excellence, and the thrill of overcoming the unknown. I am confident that these intangibles compliment my leadership skills and experience to make me a strong candidate for the Leadership position you seek to fill.
