Deputy Assistant Director for Administration, United States Military Cancer Institute (USMCI), January 2007 to April 2008. Directed operation of office, providing administrative research project support and oversight. Performed administrative, financial, personnel and procurement functions. Prepare, develop and manage budgets, statements of work, and progress reports; formulate recommendations. Conduct research and literature reviews. Worked with multiple principal investigators, Oversight Committee, and Senior Military and Non-Military staff to oversee pre- and post-award administration of grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. Coordinate initiatives across programs. Chief Administrative Officer, Gynecologic Disease Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, January 2005 to December 2006. Oversaw all facets of grant development and submission, interfacing with multiple investigators, Board and Committee members, at numerous sites. Provided, secured or negotiated for the resources/services needed to ensure the smooth operation of the Gynecologic Disease Center. Performed management analysis, procurement, contract administration, personnel and space management, and report management. Developed budget estimates and justifications; ensured funds were used in accordance with the operating budget. Highlights included the following: · Planned, coordinated and implemented special events, such as Center’s grand opening gala, featuring simultaneous symposiums. · Managed year-long, 10,000 sq. ft. renovation of the Gynecologic Disease Center. · Coordinated the Center’s bi-monthly, American Cancer Society’s Look Good…Feel Better program, for women undergoing chemotherapy/radiation.
