Daily Duties at Thq Inc.:

Director, Applications Development & Support 2004-2005 Report directly to the VP MIS. Design and deliver short and long term strategic transformation programs supported by SAP-based solutions. Implement key structural changes in decision-making and funding allocation as an enterprise-wide series of Change and Project Boards, aligning applications development and project initiatives with strategic business priorities in a unified ‘governance’ model. Worked closely with the business unit leaders/process owners in finance, sales, logistics, operations and product development to: ? change the applications development business model from off-shore to an in-house solutions center, reducing development turnaround time and costs by over 500%, ? implement a 'business-case'-based resource allocation model, managing the delivery process through business-focused Project and Change boards, creating permanent structural change to control MIS spending, implementing a standardized development process based on the SDLC/RSDM model. ? respond to points raised in Sarbanes-Oxley audit, developing and implementing remedial processes for the MIS function and supporting the business as a whole. Completed response and mobilization in compliance with ss404/802 within the stipulated time-frame, ? ’take the fight to the jungle' in proactively identifying business process misalignment and implementing applications-based solutions; investigated a reported user problem, reviewed the configuration of underlying applications, established optimal solution and rectified faults. Reduced errors in cash processing and allocations from 3 weeks to 2 hours. The implementation of effective order processing, credit management and authorizations increased the volume of business done by the company some 130%, adding $400m to the value of the company by the fiscal year end. ? create global strategic business support model for all MIS applications, ? raise business awareness of integrated application and technology function-based processes, reducing external reliance on manual intervention and 'off-application' solutions in key cash-flow areas, ? led MIS input to process and technology-based business continuity program for business recovery, including command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) components. Day-today role includes managing budgets, internal and external resource management, training, development and mentoring/performance appraisal, implementation project delivery and uninterrupted business support. Operational responsibility includes maintaining the applications and technology environment as production, development and test environments for constant business process support.
