Daily Duties at Goodman Networks, Inc.:
Worked on Wavelength Add Program. Added capacity (channels) to existing live transport networks. The DWDM equipment could be a combination of Lucent 40G & 400G, NEC SpectralWave 32,64 or 160, Siemens Surpass hiT7500 & Fujitsu Flashwave 7500. This was accomplished by: * Preparing for integration activities on possible multiple products (Lucent 400G & OLS 40G/OT Bay, NEC SpectralWave 32/64 or 160, Siemens Surpass 7500, or Fujitsu Flashwave 7500). * Performing optical power measurements. * Scoping, cleaning and connecting fibers and attenuating, if necessary, with Line Build Outs (LBOs). * Performing troubleshooting activities. * Logging into equipment, verifying alarms/conditions, pulling data, and provisioning. * Documenting integration results at site and forwarding to lead integration engineer. * Setting up and performing optical testing with an OC48/OC192 optical test set. Performing error-free Bit Error Rate soak test (BER) for 4 hours and testing switch. * Setting up optical loopback jumpers at specific locations as directed by the integration engineer or placing Keep-Alive signal at end terminal site. * Pulling Performance Monitoring (PM) data. * Traveling to multiple sites based on connectivity issues.
