Daily Duties at All Star Delivery Systems Inc.:

I have been with All Star Delivery Systems Inc. well for over six and a half years where I have learned much of the knowledge that help control every aspect of a trucking and warehousing company myself which was self taught and through the training of the owner of All Star Delivery and my supervisor. I am an all around person here at All Star Delivery Systems Inc. I am involved in all trucking aspects of our company. My job has many titles to it and I do what it takes to make sure that the companies and it’s employees can get their work done correctly and efficiently in a timely manner. Driver - I started with All Star Delivery Systems Inc. as a driver making deliveries throughout the Tri - State area and along the East Coast from NJ / NY to Virginia. I was assigned my own truck and had to do daily routes as well as other stops. I had contracted clients I dealt with on a daily basis. I had to make deliveries and pickup scheduled pickups. I would take on more stops if other drivers fell behind in their stops or were out of work for the day. I had to maintain my truck, keep log books of the mileage I traveled everyday, and keep log books for daily inspection of the truck. I reported any problems that would arise to our mechanics so my truck was always in perfect running condition. I have a clean Class D drivers license, never been pulled over, never received tickets, and have never been involved in accidents. Warehouse Supervisor Shipping / Receiving Department; Logistics - I moved into the warehouse where I am involved in the Shipping / Receiving Department where I have basic computer knowledge, I am Forklift certified and I am Hazmat Certified in 49CFR, IATA, & IMDG. I maintain technical knowledge reviewing publications. My daily routine consists of but is not limited to staying in daily communications with customer accounts through voice, email and personal appearance, Making and checking daily P.O.D sheets, Writing and typing Airway Bills, Bills of lading, and delivery receipts, Maintain accurate records for billing, Data Entry entered into the companies computer system daily throughout the day, Must enter and make sure all shipments and inventory is entered in to the computer so we have accurate numbers of our customers freight while in transit till that shipment gets to it‘s final destination and maintain those records for future use for billing or if any questions arise by our customers. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, Scheduling and picking up shipments from our contracted clients, Scheduling pickups and deliveries for customers throughout the United States, Take care of all storage, labeling, and distribution of all incoming and outgoing materials, Verifies items received by inspecting condition of items, comparing count and measure of items to shipping papers, noting discrepancies, Documents items received by recording identifying information. Determines method of shipment by examining items to be shipped, destination, route, rate and time of shipment, Documents items shipped by recording identifying information of items and transport information, Boxing and preparing Hazardous Material shipments, Accepting shipments that are delivered to us and re - routing them to their final destinations. Routing shipments to their destinations the quickest way and in a cost effective way. Scheduling common carriers for pickup. Physical loading and unloading of trucks. Stays to make sure all work is done and complete. Dispatch - Set up drivers daily routes, Dispatch our drivers on their daily routes, Stay in constant communication with drivers through cell phone and two way radio, Go out on the road when needed to cover stops if a driver is tied up or an employee maybe out, Cover stops and stay in communication with our drivers while I am out on the road, Complete deliveries by driving a truck or van to and from clients when necessary. Vehicle Maintenance - Make sure all trucks and vehicles are in 100% condition to go out on the road, Maintain all vehicle inspections daily, Make sure all vehicles are equipped with the right equipment such as road maps, pallet jacks and load bars so our drivers can do their jobs correctly and safely in a timely fashion, Do any light mechanical work to any vehicles necessary if I have the proper tools, parts, and supplies to help me finish the repairs, Schedule any necessary repairs that cannot be done by myself through our mechanics to any vehicles that our drivers report to me or I may notice while inspecting the vehicles before they go out on the road. Company Supplies & Equipment - I am involved in ordering our company supplies. Maintain the companies supplies that help us prepare and ship our clients freight, Order office supplies, warehouse supplies, freight supplies, vehicle supplies and anything else that helps All Star and myself complete it’s job of maintaining our clients accounts and maintaining All Star’s needs to get the job done. Verify all orders that were placed by matching packing slips. Maintenance - I am involved in maintenance of All Star’s offices and warehouses located in NJ. Maintaining All Stars offices and warehouses can consist of light cleaning, electrical work, painting, storage, and building repairs, Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping workstations, pallet area, and shipping supply area by following with procedures, rules, and regulations of the company, USDOT, TSA, & OSHA. Make sure the building and properties are secure, Call in any security companies and or companies such as locksmiths to maintain our doors and locks.
