Daily Duties at New Process Gear:

• Indispensable member of a cross functional project and parts development team. • Used custom designed software to plan and prepare materials to meet the requirements of both the design and product engineering departments for the manufacture and mass production of drivetrains. • Responsible for all prototype follow-up; working as a liaison between the machinists, • the design team and engineering • Demonstrated knowledge of various machining techniques, blue print reading, mark up and profitability structures, and GD&T and material conditioning • Maintained prototype inventory based on project requirements, expected consumption and Rev. level • Coordinated weekly print review meetings to ensure all cross functional team members were aligned around product goals, understood and challenges or changes, and to constantly review timelines and costs • Managed distribution of incoming parts to both machining and assembly departments • Developed plans, prepared, and distributed parts schedules to the appropriate departments through the use of MRP and CHESS. • Prepared and scheduled production releases to the supply base to ensure on time delivery of raw material and purchased parts to maximize both assembly and manufacturing schedules. • Instituted production planning meetings to guarantee on time delivery of parts to assembly lines to increase productivity and eliminate down time for machine operators • Coordinated activities between manufacturing, assembly and traffic • Created and utilized a master schedule working in coordination with the customer contact department that better managed resources and allowed suppliers to meet production needs • Involved in PPAP process • Developed and maintained B.O.M. (bills of material) • Set-up and operated various machinery in making gearing and housings for the Auto Industry • Trained in SPC • Trained in gauging and other measurement techniques
