Daily Duties at Cigna Healthcare:
o Lead proponent of production run-time cost reduction. This involved efforts to save money by reducing costs through standardization of JCL to optimize performance. o Led an effort to establish an applications performance evaluation team including participation in trials of several products which led directly to the annual savings of over $2,000,000 in processing costs and over 140 days of batch run-time per year. o Took initiative to gather, catalog and document numerous in-house written utility programs which had been previously unsupported. Many of these programs had no known source code. This required disassembly and recreation of source code from executable files. o Supported assembler, COBOL, linkage editor/binder and LE problems for application groups company wide. o Provided support for COBOL, assembler, SYNCSORT and FileAid as well as general support for many other types of application issues. o Coordinated the removal of several legacy application tools. These were removed both to provide better support for the overall environment and as a cost saving measure. o Actively participated in product evaluations and justifications. Represented the company at product demonstrations and conferences. o Installed, maintained and supported mainframe application development tools including AbendAid, Pro/JCL, STROBE and CA-Astex.
