Daily Duties at Ge Money Bank:
• Championed adoption of Sun's Java technology, including developing demos and teaching a Java class after hours for interested employees, resulting in a major transition of the application to be re-modeled from C++ Client/Server platform to a Java technology based multi-tier web-application. • Led a strategic code re-factoring that shrank to half, the number of files to implement the application request – response flow. • Reverse Engineered the existing application code in C++ and prepared the User Requirements document (URD) that helped the new Java developers the pain to dig through the vast C++ code and instead concentrate on developing the application. • Proposed and presented proof-of-concept (POC) of web-tier implementation using JSF, resulting in the Phase 2 of the application being developed using JSF components and event model. • Developed KKE and SHELL as web-services using SOAP which enabled seamless integration with the third party tools needed to access government information about a specific customer. • Developed a complete set of unit tests and declarative programming style within the code enabled smooth hand-off to maintenance programmers.
