Daily Duties at Service Merchandise:

 Research, analyze, and prepare data for transportation reports.  Analyze transportation bid proposals for cost effectiveness.  Interview new service providers.  Draft and maintain transportation contracts.  Secure and maintain Operating Authorities and Certificates of Insurance.  Evaluate and grade service provider’s performance.  Systems and Rate Administrator for the Freight Audit Payment System.  Research and resolve invoice discrepancies.  Establish, maintain, and monitor small package services.  Provide technical assistance in use of UPS package shipping systems.  Resolve refused freight shipments.  Coordinate flatbed, drop deck, refrigerated, and fixture shipments.  Provide transportation costs upon request.  Schedule freight routing via Internet Load Optimization.  Systems Administrator for the Supply Chain Performance Internet site.  Perform prepaid versus collect vendor terms studies.  Assist IT and software consultants with implementation of new software.  Manage the warehouse Unloading Allowance program.  Payroll coordinator and attendance record administrator.
